Yes Mi Irieites,
Trust all is well. As you know we just had a wonderful and successful mini tour of South America; in particular, Argentina and Uruguay. It was good to bond with our fans. But I must say it has been enlightening all the way, especially on my journey back to the Caribbean. Almost every single Latin American country I had to use to connect my flights, portrayed elements of racism at the airports. Sad to say, but true.
On our travels, Steel Pulse have always been accustomed to the perpetuated racism across the globe in regards to the Black Diaspora. So we totally “over stand” the ignorance that plagues the earth. We are also fully aware that in many cases where we are invited with honour and respect, it is due to the fact that we are known “super stars” of the reggae world and barely anything else.
Having said this, this last journey, while catching a total of five planes in a row, was a real eye opener for me. At this rate we ask ourselves if there’s any hope for mankind being united. One thing for sure, outside of those that love the reggae that comes from that tiny island in the Caribbean, an island which also boasts the fastest man in the world, there is still a long way to go to acquire that certain level of eduction that helps to bring together world peace.
It took so long after these incidents to air my views ’cause I was contemplating whether it would be worth my while making this an issue or not.
After learning of the great Ronaldinho‘s most recent experience in the Mexico, I deemed it necessary to do so.
Wake up and live!!!
